After completing the Master’s Degree in Marketing & Communication at the Rome Business School, I had the opportunity to do a one-year paid Internship at the Deutsche Post DHL Bonn Headquarters.
I joined the CSI (Customer Solutions & Innovation) Corporate Communications – Media Relation department, working with the project team in the production of Delivered, DHL’s global customer magazine.
The first project that I was assigned was the relaunch of the magazine, dealing with promotional activities, organisation of events, renaming and positioning marketing strategies and both internal and external communication strategies. I also followed the trend and feedback relating to the the relaunch on social media, blogs and press releases, presenting the data at various corporate meetings.
I managed the production of the magazine, liaising with various stakeholders, setting up interviews, following the texts’ production, the choice of images, the articles’ approval and collaborated in the production of the online version of the magazine.
During the Internship I had the opportunity to support the team with communications strategies for Customer Solutions & Innovation and DHL’s key focus sectors (Technology, Energy, Automotive, Life Sciences and Healthcare, Engineering & Manufacturing and Consumer). I worked in strategic communication projects that gave me the possibility to apply the techniques learned during the Master’s Degree course while working with international communication experts. I also collaborated with professionals on market research, competitor analysis, communication techniques and customer surveys.
Thanks to the comprehensive programme and to the strategies I learned during the Master’s Degree course at the Rome Business School, I was able to work with ease in such a complex and structured department as DHL’s Marketing and Communications, having a good base to start with and developing my knowledge in a growing company. This experience had a significant impact on my career, as I had the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally, thanks to the quality of the Internship and of the people I had the opportunity to work with. It was an experience that I would strongly recommend.
